Beas includes an extended quality control module.

The quality control module is available from Production > Quality control.

Define QC-inspection plans, where the behavior and parameters of the quality control procedure can be set. Complex rules can be stored.

Define in Item master - Quality control, which QC-inspection plan is to be used for the specific item. A QC-inspection plan is always related to a document. See: Document types

Quality control orders can be created in different ways for the items. See Quality control orders.

During the quality control process, values can be registered per sample or per measurement position. Measured values or attributes (numbers) can be registered. Each measurement position, sample or QC-order can be valued and scrap reasons can be entered. Material is released by entering the measured value, by manual confirmation, or by performing a check using the four-eyes principle, additionally, with electronic signature. In the last step, released goods are transferred to a Standard warehouse or released by releasing the batch status.

You can create documents per QC-order. Reading of the created documents can be made mandatory. A reading confirmation can be set.

Test equipment and samples are supported. Samples can be generated for a time internal, fixed quantity, scale quantity or per serial number.

Note: Registering measured values and releasing is performed using the personnel number. A link between user and personnel number is mandatory.

Concepts

Work with QC warehouse

A QC warehouse needs to be created:

1. Create a warehouse: SAP B1 - Setup - Warehouse

2. Set up the warehouse as a Quality control warehouse. Warehouse administration - Edit - Warehouse type.

3. Go to Configuration wizard > Quality control to adjust further behavior.

4. Create a QC-inspection plan and store it in the Item master- Quality control.

Depending on the settings in Configuration wizard, when posting the goods, the Quality control warehouse is automatically selected. In the Quality control order measured vales can be registered and the order can be released. Use the Transfer screen to post the material to the release warehouse or to the blocked warehouse. This is defined in Warehouse rules.

Batch release

The release can be performed using batch status, when working with batches and a further processing of blocked batches can be prohibited this way.

In this case you can work without a QC warehouse and transfer of goods.

It is necessary to create a QC-inspection plan and to store it in Item master - Quality control.

Important: the batch needs to be blocked when it is posted. This is set up in Configuration wizard > Materials management > Purchase goods receipt > Batch administration

or

Production - Valuation and posting the assembly - Batch administration

In quality control order, the batch can be released manually or automatically - depending on the setting. Setup the behavior in Configuration wizard - Quality control - Batches.

Batches expiration date

Date of expiry can be checked and, based on this date, a new QC order can be created. See Batches to be verified.

Operation sequence related inspection plan

With this method no goods are moved. You can define, that a QC order is created for this step.

The subsequent work steps can be blocked until release (see Configuration wizard > FDC > rules).

To set this up:

Create a QC-inspection plan and store it in the operation sequence.

Select the timing of the QC order creation in Configuration wizard > Quality control > Production > Create QC-order automatically.
