Further Setup

Browse: Max. number of lines to be displayed

hmtoggle_plus1  Maximum number of rows

In all lists and selection windows (not analyses, however), only a certain number of lines is shown to facilitate the presentation of the result on the screen. The maximum number of result lines can be set here. The higher the number, the longer it takes for the display to show, and the higher the load on the network or the server.

Default : 200

If a list contains more rows than set up here, on the bottom right corner binoculars are displayed. Clicking on it, all data can be displayed via "Display all".

Note:

Is support by window Templates. Thus the number the rows to be displayed can be defined in the template. The setting in the template has here a higher priority.

See Display - Lists

Drop down with full text search

hmtoggle_plus1  Drop down full text search

Note: Only available until beas 9.2 PL 5. For later versions see below.

Relates to beas window with selection columns (drop down)

During selection, you can limit the selection in the drop down area by entering the search term.

If the option is activated, the entry must be a part of the selection. If the option is deactivated, the selection must begin with the entry.

Input: Harald

The term will be found if full text search is enabled. If search is deactivated it will only be found if "Hans" is entered.

Participate in the usability improvement program

At Boyum IT we are committed to provide products that our customers can use to their fullest potential.

The Usability Improvement Program (UIP) was created to give all Boyum IT customers

the ability to contribute to the design and development of the Boyum IT products.

Participation in the UIP is voluntary, and the end-results are

software improvements to better meet the needs of our customers.

How does UIP work?

When you choose to participate in the UIP, the addon automatically sends information to Boyum IT about how you are using the product (number of configurations, number of usages etc.). The information then is utilized to improve the features customers use most often.

The UIP does not send any Business Data or confidential information.

All data sent between you and the Boyum IT servers are encrypted.

Will I be contacted or receive spam if I participate?

No. UIP reports do not contain contact information, such as names, addresses, or phone numbers. This means that you will not be asked to participate in surveys or to read junk e-mail, and you will not be contacted in regards to your participation.

If I choose to participate, can I opt out later?

Yes. You can choose to start or stop participating at any time using the configuration options.

Is the Usability Improvement Program spyware?

No. Spyware can collect information or act on your computer without your full knowledge or consent. UIP does not take actions if you choose to not participate. You can also start or stop participating at any time.

Can I review the information before it is sent to Boyum IT?

Unfortunately the information cannot be reviewed for a couple of reasons:

The Usability Improvement Program is designed to enable all our customers to participate. To be able to handle large number of customers sending data, the collected information is recorded so that the Boyum IT servers can efficiently process all the data. The nature of this processing makes it difficult for most customers so review the information.
The data is sent automatically, without interrupting your work.

For these reasons, the Usability Improvement Program is not able to show the information collected.

We recognize that some customers might be uncomfortable allowing the information collected by UIP to be sent without having an opportunity to review it fully even though the information does not contain contact information. If you are uncomfortable with sharing this information, please choose not to participate.

Customer-specific extensions local

Define where the customer-specific extensions has to be saved

By default these are saved in following directory
\\[server]\b1_shr\beas software\project

This can be changed in the option "Directory for customer-specific extensions"

All directories will be copied from
\\[server]\b1_shr\beas software\project

to

%programdata%\beas\project

and will be checked and run from there if this function will be used

Note:

Beas has no access to the local directory if it will be launched in service mode. In this case it is necessary that the option is deactivated.

Option deactivated:

Advantage for a central directory:

Distribution to the clients is not necessary. Thus a deleted file will be deleted on all clients and changes will be translated immediately without restart. Server service mode does only work if this function is deactivated.

Disadvantage:

The network may be more loaded than usual.

This affects negatively if the network is in general already overloaded. This affects negatively if the network is already overloaded generally.

Option activated

Advantage:

Changes can be performed and checked, before these are distributed.
Program-Performance is better at heavily loaded networks

Disadvantage:

Server service has no access to it.

A deleted file has to be deleted manually on all clients in the directory %programdata%\beas\project. An automatic solution will not be performed

Server Directory for customer-specific extensions

Determines the local directory where customized extensions are stored. If you leave the field empty, the following directory will be used:

\\[server]\b1_shr\beas software\project

\\[server]\b1_shr\beas software\addon

Below the defined directory the following structure is created:

[chosen folder]

  |_ AddOn

         |_ [one folder per AddOn]

  |_ project

         |_ standard (default folder for customizing scripts]
         |_ [customer-name] (Folder for customer specification)

Example: In AddOn-Administration - Customer-Specification - Directory was set up:"beas"
In Configuration wizard \\myserver\project\

Customized extensions will be saved under: \\myserver\project\project\beas

Important:

The directory needs to be accessible from all clients.

Should not be changed if possible.
