Edit BOM

The BOM can be assigned as the related item number, or freely.

If a separate BOM will be selected in the item master – administration, any BOM can be assigned.

Note:

A BoM can be assigned to multiple items.

Example of use:

The version number can also be assigned in the BOM ID:

Item: 300.3042

BOM Version 1 = 300.3042-001
BOM Version 2 = 300.3042-002

It is a information field. Definition is not necessary, because the BOM can also be assigned to multiple items. See button "Example of use"

In Item Master Data – Administration you can define the Version Control Administration.

If you define "Separate Bill of Materials", you must link in this field the Routing position to the Bill of Material.

In this field you can choose the Routing plan.

If you don't define this, the system copies the BoM ID in the Routing ID field. Beas 2020.02

Only for information. BOM can be used in any case.

In configuration wizard you can set up, whether the BOM is released immediately after new creation or copy.

At a release, the name of the user, date and station name, will be entered, on which the release executed.

The release affects on the create work order:

If the BOM is not released, a related work order can not be created, or be locked.

The error message

"(checkrelease5) The BOM <...> for item version <...> / <...> is not released or locked"

will be issued.
