A tool can produce several parts per shot. If the use factor changes, use this field to apply the change to all routing positions.

Example: a stamping tool can produce 20 parts per shot. Utility factor = 20.

After certain time, the tool is partly defective and can only produce 18 parts. Using this utility factor, this information can be written directly to all active routings and work orders. Enter 18 to this field and click the tool icon next to it to apply changes to all routing positions.

Example: The production of plastic injected parts, where the mold used to produce the parts (which is the tool) can have multiple cavities to create several parts at the same time. If the mold has 5 cavities, this means it can generate 5 items at each use, the number 5 should be filled at the Use factor by (shot/pass) field. If the tool is used to determine the production times, you can click on the button right next to Use factor by (shot/pass) field to update the changes in this field into all existing routings and work orders.

Important: This field is only available for tools, not for utilities.

Note: For the tool to be used in capacity planning, the value in Quantity Tool cannot be greater than “1”, and each tool should be registered separately.

Important: The value entered in this field is ignored if "Number of machine/person" in the resource is higher than 1.

By enabling this option, you need to enter times. Planned use of tools is taken into consideration - depending on the calculation type. Tool availability is checked.

Important: This field is only available for tools, not for utilities.

If enabled, the default times of the tool are transferred to the operation. In this case, the tool influences lead time.

Only values are used, which had been entered in "planning". Empty fields are ignored.

If more than one tool was stored in an operation and for both "determine lead time" was enabled, only one tool can be activated.

Activating or exchanging the tool is possible in Work order structure or in APS – graphic view.

Attention:

Only limited support.

This entry defines the item entry through which the tool is entered.

At the same time, it is necessary to define a tool store in the options into which the tool can be entered for the interim period if the tool is used. The intermediate inventory should be of the type "Locked inventory".

An automatic transfer of the tool is performed for the setup login of an order.

Workflow:

1. Create item for this tool.
  Preconditions:

  - No batch- and serial management support.

  - Item must be stock on default warehouse.

  - Item must have a stock default warehouse.

2. The system transfers the tool from default warehouse to "tool in production" warehouse.
  Create this warehouse and define this in the Configuration wizard:

3. Insert this tool in routing position.

4. Create a work order.

5. Log in to this routing position.

6. The system automatically creates an issue document from Default warehouse.

7. If no stock is available, the system does not create the issue document. No warning or error message appears.

8. Then, the system creates a receipt document to the warehouse defined in the Configuration wizard.

9. Log out from the routing position.

10. You must transfer the tool manually to the default warehouse.

The system does not check if the tool is on stock.

Availability is only visible in the Pool List -> "F2 Open" window.

Limitation:

- Beas uses standard accounts for manual transactions.

- Beas uses the price defined in SAP B1.

- Bin Management is not supported.

- Beas does not check minimum stock or other stock rules.
- No support of work order numbers > 1000000.
