Execution
The definition of the workflow for release or blockage can be edited in the Release tab. The release can be performed on the level of measurement, sample or order.
You can define the 4-eyes principle of control on every level depending on the valuation.
For process of release on measurement position level see Measurement position.
PATH: Production > Quality control > QC inspection plan > Open an entry > "Master Data" tab > "Release" tab.

Release
Related to Sample – Release.
Define when Release 2 is activated.
The QC Inspection Plan can only be released if all Release 2 for all Samples are activated:
Available variants:
Variant
Description
Automatically
If "Release 1" is "released", the system activates "Release 2" automatically.
Working with this variant is not possible if "Electronic Signature" is activated.
If the user changes "Release 1" to "manually locked" or "opened manually", the system disables "Release 2".
Manually only if OK
You must Release the sample manually.
Use this if you work with "Electronic signature" / 4 eyes concept.
It is not possible to Release the sample if not all Measurements are OK.
If one of the measurements is locked, the status "Release 1" switches automatically to "Locked". You can reopen the sample if you define "Release 1" as "opened manually".
Always manually
Release can be performed entirely manually.
The system ignores status "Release 1".
The user can activate "Release 2" at any time.
In the next step, after releasing the sample, the QC order can be released.
Note:
No automatic release is executed if the inspection plan has no inspection-relevant measurement position.
See Four eye principle
Electronic signature
Concept of this function:
User 1 checks the measurements position. If all ok, User 2 check the result again.
Only if all OK can the user release the Sample, as well. User 1 cannot release this sample.
Only possible if setting "Release" is "Manually only if OK".
For release a password needs to be entered. See Personnel - Login
See Glossary - electronic signature.

Valuation
This setting defines the field "Valuation" in Sample.
Setting
Description
No
No valuation is possible and the fields are hidden.
They can be displayed in lists using window settings.
Yes
Valuation possible.
Mandatory
Valuation mandatory. The sample cannot be released until it is valued.
Note: If "Valuation" was set to "mandatory" the combination with "Release" set to "automatically" is not allowed. In this case, the program switches "Release" to "manually only ok".
QC-Order
Release
With this setting you can define the automatic release of a QC Order.
Setting
Description
automatically
Automatic release as soon as "Release 2" in all Samples are OK.
Switching to "automatic" the "Electronic signature" is disabled and "Valuation" is set to "yes".
manually only if OK
Manual release if all values are OK. In this case one person can enter values and release the sample.
always manually
Same as automatic, but you can release this sample every time.
In the next step, after releasing the sample, the QC Order can be released.
Electronic signature
A password needs to be entered for release. See Personnel - Logon.
Valuation
No: No valuation possible. Valuation fields are hidden at entry.
They can be displayed in lists by applying window settings.
Yes: Valuation possible.
Mandatory: Valuation mandatory. As long as the sample was not valued, it cannot be released.
Note
If "Valuation" was set to "mandatory", the combination with "Release" set to "automatically" is not allowed. In this case the program switches "Release" to "manually only ok".
Transfer / Batch release
manually: Goods can be transferred at any time to the yield warehouse, and batches can be released at any time.
mandatory: Goods can only be transferred to the yield warehouse after the order has been released. (QC Order, Field "Release"). Posting of scrap is not affected. See Transfer.
Batch status can only be set to "released" after the order has been released.
Automatically close
Refers the field QC Order, Field "close"
automatically: QC Order is closed automatically if released (QC Order, Field "release").
When the QC order is to be closed, the system checks if there are any Open Transfer documents for the current QC Order. If any Transfer is open, the system will not close the QC Order, and will leave it open. The user will have to close the order later, manually .
manually if OK: QC Order can be closed manually if a blockage reason was stored or the QC Order was released (QC Order, Field"Release").
manually without check: The QC Order can be closed at any time.
Batches, Transfer
Batch Status release
Manually: Batch is not released automatically.
Automatically: Batch is released automatically after the QC Order was released.
Manually only By Release: Manual release only after the QC Order has been released.
See
Concept - Batch release
Transfer
Transfer by warehouse
From all warehouses: Transfer request always, regardless of which warehouse the goods were received from.
Only from QC warehouse: Transfer request only for the warehouse which was defined as goods receipt/QC-warehouse.
See
Warehouse master data - Type of warehouse
QC Transfer
Transfer Release
Affects the Transfer window.
always: Item to be checked; can be posted at any time to the yield warehouse.
only by release: The QC-order needs to be released (QC Order, Field "Release") before the item can be transferred to the yield warehouse.
