Resources are productive assets that Beas uses as the smallest capacity unit.
Machine hour rates for calculation, as well as the planned capacity, transition and vacation time for capacity planning are stored in resources.
Resources can be subdivided into resource groups. A resource group can be a number of individual machines that can be used alternatively, or a collection of machines belonging to a production unit. A resource does not have to be assigned to a resource group.
For Beas there is no difference between work stations, employees, machines or buildings. These are all resources to be assigned to the operation sequences.

Parallel resources are separately planned resources that have the same start and end time that the main resource has (operation). Parallel resources can only have one set of costs defined (for example, no separate staff costs and no extended costs). Parallel resources always have the same start and end times, but can be used for more than 100% (time reservation %). Parallel resources are calculated separately and must be reported separately.
Alternative parallel resources can also be defined. The appropriate parallel resource can be selected in manual scheduling or automatic optimization. If capacity planning is enabled in the parallel resource, the operation for a forward reservation can only be scheduled when both the main resource and the parallel resource are available.
Beas supports the following types of parallel resources: •Tools with same start and end date •Parallel resources with same start and end date and with any degree of utilization •Alternative parallel resources •Overlapping operations |
Utilization of the optimal resource in a resource group and utilization of the optimal parallel alternative resource in an operation can be optimized. |
