Beas Reservation and WMS Locking systems - integration

Locking (WMS) and reservations (Beas) created by each system are automatically synchronized and so reflected in the other system. Over-reservation is not possible.

The systems validate the reservation status before the creation of any SAP documents, and both systems ensure that reservation rules are not broken. See "Activation validation" below.
Beas reservations can only be removed in Beas, and WMS locking can only be removed in WMS.

Introduction

WMS Locking function:

Produmex WMS uses its locking function to reserve materials for specific documents/processes on multiple levels:

- Item/Quality status: The item, the warehouse and the quality status is defined for the lock.

- Batch: The item, the warehouse, the quality status and the BatchID is defined for the lock.

- LUID: The item, the warehouse, the quality status, the BatchID and the LUID is defined for the lock.

- Detail: The item, the warehouse, the quality status, the BatchID the LUID and the location code is defined for the lock.

Beas Reservation system:

Beas_Reservation_system_crop

In Beas, you can reserve materials (items, batches in a designated location) for specific processes: work orders and sales orders. The reserved quantities are fixed for each work order or sales order  and are not available for other documents.

The reservation is later used as a pre-assignment for material issue from stock or for creating Sales Delivery documents.
The possibility to move this reservation can be performed with the following processes:
- Pick list for production (move to a different location)
- Picking for production

Beas support to WMS locking levels:

The supported WMS locking quantities are considered in the total "Reserved" quantity of related Beas documents.
From 2024.02, Beas also displays the available and reserved quantities separately, by WMS locking types, in the related Beas documents.
- Beas 2023.11 or earlier: Only "Detail" locking level is supported.

- Beas 2024.02 and later: WMS "Batch", "LUID" and "Detail" levels are supported. See the list of affected WebApps.

- Beas 2024.04 and later: Beas Total Reserved quantities consider WMS "Batch", "LUID" and "Detail" levels in Beas Material Requirements, WO Transfer Request screens and MRP Order recommendation.
IMPORTANT: "Item" level WMS locking is only possibly through WMS and is NOT supported in Beas.

Beas:

The synchronization with the WMS Locking system can be activated in the Beas Configuration Wizard. The parameter is set to inactive by default:

WMS_Reservation_ConfigWiz

NOTE: We recommend this setting to be used in activated mode. If you deactivate this parameter, it terminates synchronization between the two systems, and removes all information coming from WMS and going to WMS.

See WMS settings inside the Beas Configuration Wizard.

Activation validation:

When the parameter is activated, the systems validate WMS locking and Beas reservations and send an error message in case over-reservation should occur:
"There are conflicts in the reservation system, please solve following errors before you activate reservation synchronization."
WMS_Reservation_Conflict

In this case, you must resolve locking/reservation manually by deleting either the Beas reservation or the WMS lock, and try again.

Example integrated workflow:
1. Create a Sales order
2. Create a Work order from the Sales order

3. hmtoggle_plus1Beas creates a pre-allocation for the item in the Work Order structure.

4. hmtoggle_plus1Create a reservation for the item from the right-click menu in the Work Order structure.

5. hmtoggle_plus1Reserve 1 unit for a pallet - LUID 972:

6. Go to SAP Item Master Data of this WMS item.

7. Click Item Master Data > General tab > PMX Inventory button.

8. hmtoggle_plus1The Item in LUID 972 is displayed in the Inventory Report.

9. Select the item and then select "View" from the Locking button drop down.

10. hmtoggle_plus1The Locked Quantity window pops up and displays the reservation related to LUID 972.

11. IMPORTANT: From Produmex WMS 2023.10, AdHoc (partial) movement of SSCC is possible even with Beas Work Order reservation. See VIDEO on AdHoc move with reservation lock here.
Also see "Moving stock reserved for Beas" (Ad Hoc Moves of Full, Multiple and Partial Logistic units).

Limitation:

1. It is not recommended to use the synchronization of the two reservation systems in the following Beas Desktop terminal/WebApps:

- Delivery apps

- Picking list

- Reservation apps

2. Beas does not support WMS locking type "Item" for Beas reservations
