Administration > Setup > Production > Operation Catalog > Open an operation to edit > Parallel tab
In the Parallel tab, Beas displays a list of all resources that will be used in parallel with the main resource assigned in the Header. The user can insert, edit and delete resources.
Important: Only use parallel resources if a separate time planning is required for parallel resources.
NOTE: Parallel operations do not consider quantities and do not manage Open/Close status!
a) Define personnel costs separately. Thus these costs will be calculated separately.
b) Up to 4 separate cost elements can be defined, which can also be receipted separately.

To assign a parallel resource, click on New and a new window opens:
PATH: Inventory > Item report >
1. "Open" an entry >
2. Routing tab >
3. "Open" routing position >
4. "Parallel" tab >
5. "Open" / "Add line".

Position
Used for sorting the parallel resource list from the routing. It is a consecutive number, but not a primary key.
Active
Set parallel resource active. If enabled, only one position can be active.
Important: Only one parallel resource can be activated which defines the throughput time per routing. This information is copied to the operation, therefore, the user must check one parallel resource as “Active”, and all other resources should have “Active” unchecked.
Alternative
Set if this parallel resource can also be alternative to other parallel resources for the same operation.
Resource
Note: No external resources or resources with extended cost rates , for example
personnel costs, are allowed.
Cost not valuate
If enabled, the resource costs of this parallel resource are ignored. Precalculation and post-calculation are affected. Costs created with time receipts are not taken into account.
Use this option if the cost is included with the main resource.
Disabled by default.

Description
Description of the resource that comes from the resource master data and cannot be changed.
Info
Additional free text information.
Throughput Time area
This information relates only to Business performance, not to the throughput time of the work sequence itself, as this is ALWAYS parallel to the main work sequence and always has the same start and end time.
Setup time
Setup time of the parallel resource process.
Mach+Labor Time/unit
The Mach+Labor time for a unit of quantity using the Time unit in consumption units Quantity per time finished parts.
Note: Secondary mach+labor times cannot be specified here.
Use factor
Split the production time amongst more finished goods
See Calculation of target time.
ork steps
Used as a multiplication factor for the production times
See Calculation of target time.
Quantity per Time
Used as a multiplication factor for the production times
Time Unit
Defines times in hours or minutes.
To register a processing time independent from the quantity you can enter 0.
See Calculation of plan time.
Time reservation (%)
At which % should the resource be scheduled?
Example: The parallel resource is an employee operating four machines at once. He needs to be available for the machine at the whole time but only at 25%.
Example: The parallel resource should work during 30% of the main resource time, the user can enter the value “30” in the Time Reservation field, and Beas calculates the times for the parallel resource automatically.
If the setup time or processing time is entered, in Precalculation this value is ignored.
See Calculation of plan time.
Cost element
Accumulated costs are written to this cost element.
Technical information:
Parallel resources share a database table with tools, utilities, and alternative operations.
Structure of bar code on routing card: 6-digit beas_ftapl.number + 3-digit beas_ftapl_wkz.pos_id
