Lot size

Top

The lot size refers to the quantity of products or parts that are produced one after the other without interrupting production, for example, 5.000 screws. Each retooling of the machines therefore causes set-up costs and times, since production cannot take place during retooling.

In Beas we have 2 different lot sizes:

Production lot size: Maximum lot size for production (inventory UoM)

Calculation lot size: The average lot size for price calculation, e.g. for using in batch calculation (inventory or production UoM)

Precalculation

- Ignores the production lot size on the main level.   The production lot size will only be used in sub levels.

- You can define up to 4 different lot sizes for price calculation.

The calculation lot size affects:

- Setup times in a Bill of material position.

- Fix times (Quantity per = 0) in routing positions.

- Fix surcharges.

- Purchase prices (special price list).
