openwindow

Opens a child window in relation to the parent window. Before opening the window, the content of the parent is saved.  

opennewwindow

Same as openwindow, but without relation to the parent window. You can close the parent window without closing the opened window

openchild

Same as openwindow, but without saving the content of the parent window. Use this when you change information between the child and parent window, but you do not want to use response .
It is possible to open a child as modal form.
