In this area you can define alternative help system if you cannot use the standard online help.

Context related help is always available: call up by pressing F1.

Select here:

 

WEB-files accessed from the Beas-Server or any local server.
If you want to use a local server, you must define the address in "URL for English help".

Execute the beas_help.exe from the folder which can be defined in "Directory help files" setting.

Copy this in a folder (outside the download folder)

Define the folder in "Directory help files"
 

NOTE: If you click F1, the system opens the help, but does not jump to correct chapter.

If you set this option, the key F1 will open the documentation outside of Beas in an external browser. The system sends  the link of the specific topic to the web page to open it, and the default browser of the system will open the link.

Additional value of this option: Various external browsers (e.g. Google Chrome) feature integrated translation tools. With this option, the users can turn on their browser-powered translation system, and read the documentation in their own language.

Directory help files

Directory in which the help file is stored. Copy beas_help.exe to this directory. Leaving blank, Beas uses the default setting: c:\program files\beas software\beas

URL for English help

URL for English version of help.

1. Ask our support for a current version of the English help in a zip file.

2. You can expand this zip file on a local folder or network folder. In case you need the search function, the server has to be a PHP HTTP Server.

3. Insert the correct folder or IP Address in the Configuration wizard (see image below).

Config_Wiz_OFFLINE_help

If file based: Insert folder name in URI style / Linux format.

4. You can test this directly by pressing F1.
