With this setting, SAP integration is active, but you can view and manage item master data in the separate, Beas window with all functions gathered in its various tabs.
When you open the Item Master from a Beas form, the system opens the Beas item master data window.
SAP window
With this default setting you can view and manage item master data in the SAP BusinessOne Item master window with the integrated Beas functions. When you open the Item Master from a Beas form, the system opens the SAP item master data window.
None integration
No integration is activated, and you can open and manage item master data as in the previous Beas versions.
Note: If you start Beas outside SAP Environment, only the Beas Item Master Data is available.
The "Parameters" tab is displayed. Any additional information on the item can be stored in the parameters, for example UDF. When a work order is created, the parameters are copied there. Variant production can also access these parameters.
Specific weight by item
If active, the specific weight is managed per item in master data, otherwise it is stored in raw material. This field can be very useful for calculating conversions between warehouse unit and consumption unit.
Item master is saved in an SAP Table and SAP has its an own UDF concept.
UDF1-4 do not exist.
Beas windows support only UDF1-4. In item master data it is possible to link a Beas UDF with SAP UDF.
1.Define UDF field in SAP > Tools >Customization tools > User-Defined-Fields > Master Data > Items > Items
2.Go to Configuration wizard > Item > View > Item Master Data > UDF
3.Click on the tool box right of the UDF field.
4.Select the UDF field where you want to save the data.
The field must be from type "Char", otherwise the system cannot save the information.
Note:
In SAP Item Window - Extended Production the UDF's are not integrated because the SAP window has its own UDF concept.
All UDF's are on the right side and it is possible to move these fields in any place.
BoM and routing are always firmly linked to the item. In item master, the tabs BoM and Routing are displayed.
The field "I-version" can be used freely, it has no function.
separate BoM management
BoM and routing are managed separated from item master. In item master a BoM and optionally a routing can be linked to an item. By creating a work order manually, you can replace the BoM and routing.
The field "I-version" can be used freely, it has no function.
Version control
Item version control is active. Per item, any number of versions can be stored.
Per version the description, drawing number and link to BoM and routing can be defined separately.
The field "I-version" in item master displays the currently active version. Use this field to select other versions if necessary.
Variants
The same function as "Version control" but in this case variants are used, which can be selected already in a sales order.
In this case, the field "I-version" indicates the variant.
Item version control is disabled by default.
Note
Item version control is available from beas9.1 Patch4 in combination with SAP B1 9.1.
This option is visible only if item version control is enabled.
If the option is disabled, (default) the routing is stored in the BoM.
If the option is enabled, the routing is linked to the item or item version independent of the selected BoM.
NOTE:
BoM items can be linked to routing items. If the routing is not firmly linked to the BoM, it is not possible to check the linkage. Beas does not block linking BoM item and routing position, but the user needs to make sure that the links are correct.
Example of use:
Enable if you want to work with alternative routings.
If this option is activated, the SAP Business One Bill of materials is displayed in the item structure and the calculation, or included in the calculation.
This option is for users, who use calculation exclusively.
Enabled: SAP Business One BoM is displayed in master data, in calculation and in work orders (if created via calculation). The SAP Business One BoM is not considered in MRP.
