Buttons, icons, and right-click entries can be defined in various layouts in the following way:

Buttons can be created on top, on the right side, on bottom or via right-click. Furthermore, a function can be linked to the button.

 

- Select template

- Execute print macro (e.g. label printing)

- Execute beas or B1UP Universal function (e.g. lists, reports, or dashboards)

- Execute direct scripts (e.g. open window)
 

The function Button Definition can be accessed via:

 

PATH: Administration > Add-Ons > B1 Usability Package > Module Configuration > beas Usability Extension: beas Customizing Administration window > Edit function buttons,

- Right-click > beas Usability Package Setup Overview > New Button. An existing entry can be edited hereafter,
- Right-click > beas Usability Package Icon b1up-icon > Setup Overview,
- Right-click > beas Usability Package Icon b1up-icon  > Add function buttons,
IMPORTANT: If there are buttons already created, instead of "Add Function Buttons", the right-click menu reads as "Edit Function Buttons".

Add Button

1. Add function buttons – right-click to open window.

2. Button "Add row".

3. Fill in the field "Text" for the button.

4. Select position (top, bottom, right, or right-click).

5. Define functions and associated parameters.

6. Add row.

7. Close the original window and reopen it.

 

User Specific Definition

Several button definitions can be made, e.g. user-specific. See: User.

In this way, all active button definitions corresponding to the user rule are considered always.

If more than one definition exists, they must be opened via right-click - beas Usability Package Icon – Setup Overview. There is possibility for further definitions to be made or changed here.

Field

Description

ID

Unique ID for the function buttons – Definition.

If an ID is not set manually, the system assigns one automatically.

Window ID

ID of the window for which the defined validation should apply.

Tip: The window specified here must be open in order to change its properties.

Description

Text field where the validation can be described in further details.

Active

The function buttons definition is only considered when this box is checked.

User (empty=All)

You can indicate the validity of the definition / users in the Item Placement Tool, function buttons, and validation configuration.

The following rule applies:

 

Field is empty: There is no check

Incl. User: The definition is only valid for the specified users

Excl. User: The definition applies to all users except for the users specified here

 

A user can be:

- SAP User

- SAP user group

- Personnel (Menu: Human Resources > Personnel)

 

In the selection window the corresponding user can be defined and taken over by the ("transfer button")

Category

Select a category for the function button from drop-down menu.

 

 

Fields to set in the right window section:

Optional information or remarks.

Text

Label of the button or text by right-clicking.

ID

Unique ID. If an ID is not set manually the system assigns one automatically.

Add/Update/OK

Check boxes to define whether the button should be visible in the selected mode.

Note: The check only takes place while opening the window. If the mode is changed in the window (e.g. from OK to UPDATE or back), there is no reloading or new validation of the buttons.

Position

The button position – top, right, bottom, or in the right-click menu – can be selected here.

It is not possible to indicate precisely where the button should be positioned. The button is either placed to the right of or under the previous button. The width is calculated automatically based on the text content but can be manually adjusted by inserting another value in the field "Width".

 

Right-click entries are always displayed at the top of the right-click menu.

Icon

For buttons in the position either above or to the right, the size is fixed and cannot be changed. The button is only displayed as an icon. The caption (text) is placed on top of the button and the width (number of characters) is therefore limited to the width of the icon.

 
Position below: Icon width is not limited by the dimensions of other bordering/adjoining icons.

 

Right-click: Icon is displayed to the left of the text.

Tool Tip

Here a description or extended information can be added. This is displayed as a "speech bubble" (tooltip), when the cursor is placed over the button.

 

Note: This is not possible for right-click entries.

 

Example:

Tooltip with text "Additional information" is displayed, when the cursor is placed over the button.

Color

Defines the font color for the button (not possible for right-click entry). You can select and calibrate color tones with sliding bars:

Font Size

Defines the font size for the button (not possible for right-click entry).

Font Format

Defines font format (not possible for right-click entry).

Width

Position right: Buttons always have the same width by default.

Position below or above: Button width is calculated automatically.

Right-click: Width is constrained by the width of the right-click menu and cannot be changed.

 

The calculated width can be overwritten.

The following functions are available:

Universal function

It is possible to select a universal function. It can be either a Beas universal function or a B1UP universal function.

If the selection icon is clicked in the parameter, the corresponding selection list will be opened.

By clicking the golden arrow the universal function can be opened directly.

 

Note:

B1UP Universal functions only work within the SAP environment. If beas is started outside of the SAP environment, e.g. in a terminal solution, then the B1UP - universal function will not run.

 

Universal functions are often window-related. Therefore, only the universal functions which can be used in the considered window should be selected.

Choose template

Switches to the specified template:

Templates can be defined in lists. Switching from one template to another is only possible either via the beas icon or by right-clicking. The option to use buttons is the best option. Here you can select the template which should be used when clicking this button.

beas script

A beas script can be stored for e.g. opening windows, creating transactions, or procedures.

Macro Print

Macro PDF

Macros can be defined for each window, e.g. print work order report, print label, or create list as PDF.

If macros have been defined, this execution can be stored for a button.

Here, printing, preview, excel, and PDF export are available. All other settings are made in the macro itself.
