Every quantity in Bill of materials and work order position is stored in production unit.
Conversion between production unit and inventory unit is defined in the Conversion.
Note: In BoM you can define a separate Input Unit.
In this case the system calculates the production unit from input unit and the inventory unit from production unit
(Field OITM.U_me_verbr)
Sales UoM
Used for offers, customer orders, delivery note, invoice and all other documents in area Sales.
(Field OITM.SalUnitMsr)
Purchasing UoM
Used for purchases, delivery, purchase invoices.
(Field OITM.BuyUnitMsr)
Inventory Counting UoM
Unit for stock counting. Currently not supported by Beas.
(Field OITM.CntUnitMsr)
Input UoM
In the Bill of materials window you can define an own UoM.
From this Unit the system calculates the production UoM and from this the inventory UoM.
Concept
In Beas the UoM is mandatory for every Item. In SAP it is enough to work with UoM Names.
Beas uses the SAP UoM Names for saving the UoM Code.
For this Beas inserts a button with 3 points right of the UoM field. Here you can choose the UoM.
If you insert the UoM manually, Beas checks if the UoM is correct.
You can define extended information for every UoM (right-click in UoM window)
Here it is allowed to define a UoM Name for singular and plural (e.g. for printing documents) and the count of decimal places for the view in Beas Form.
Note for Decimal places:
This is not a rounding. This only defines the view in Beas Forms and the WEB Application.
The count of decimal places for rounding is defined in General settings – View – Decimal places.
Beas allows to define different UoMs (Input/Production/Inventory UoM)
The system always converts one UoM to another automatically. For this you can define Formulas (UoM – Button "Conversion formula"). You can insert your own formula and use for this length, width, height and density of current item or Bill of Materials entry.
