Chart of accounts The chart of accounts includes all general ledger accounts. In the financial accounting each company code is allocated with a chart of accounts. This allocation is binding for the investment accounting, as well.
Accounting location key The key for accounting location is stored in the general section of the master data of the asset class. It defines the financial accounting reconciliation accounts that are to be entered for each chart of accounts and each automatic entry of the depreciation area (see below) in a chart of depreciation. The chart of depreciation is not a key criterion for account determination. This means that no reconciliation accounts specific to the depreciation area can be stored in one single accounting location for company codes which refer to different charts of depreciation but use the same chart of accounts.
You must store an accounting location key in each asset class. In this way a class-based allocation of accounts is ensured. SAP provides accounting location keys for the standard reconciliation accounts and standard charts of accounts. |
