Cost elements can subdivide and categorize all the incurred costs. The costs can be grouped into machinery costs, personnel costs, setup costs, external processing costs etc.

Cost elements are stored in resources, work sequences, tools, and so on. The usage of the calculation is defined in the calculation schema.

This grouping is then displayed in the pre-calculation and costing analysis.

Accounts can also be stored in cost elements. If an order report (FDC) is made, the accounts stored here are debited directly. Alternatively, the accounts can be stored in the calculation schema. In case the accounts are in the calculation schema, the accounts are debited on receipt of the finished part or closure of the work order.

Cost elements are grouped into cost element groups, allowing a summary per cost element group.

Surcharges can also be defined in cost elements. These can be considered in the pre-calculation, cost analysis and posted separately.
